Rett Syndrome Awareness

Rett Syndrome Awareness

Rett Syndrome AwarenessRett Syndrome Fundraising Events.

Rett Syndrome Awareness is slowly growing thanks to you and the many parents out there who either have a Rett Syndrome child or are involved in some way with a Rett Angel and are fighting to find a cure for Rett Syndrome.

October is Rett Syndrome Month

October has now been deemed Rett Syndrome Awareness month internationally.  For that reason, families of Rett children are holding awareness campaigns and functions around the world to further raise Rett Syndrome Awareness and to raise funds for Rett Syndrome Research.

Unfortunately, in South Africa until very recently there has been no support whatsoever for Rett Syndrome families.  This has changed and though we are still in baby step status, we are doing our best to correct that problem.

If you have an interest in Rett Syndrome or are a parent, family member, carer, therapist or medical practitioner of a Rett Syndrome Child in South Africa (or anywhere else for that matter), we would like to invite you to join our slowly growing list, by completing the form on the right hand side column.

We need to all work together to promote awareness and raise funds to find a cure for Rett Syndrome.

Rett Syndrome Support Groups in South Africa

  • Would you like to start, or become a member of a support group in your area?
  • Do you sell products which would assist in the care of a Rett Syndrome Child?
  • Are you a professional who can offer expert assistance for the Rett Children in your suburb?
  • Would you like to be put in contact with parents of Rett Angels living near you?
  • Would you like to have a link on our site so that Rett families can contact you?

If so, please contact us at  We would love to assist you.

It is time for all South Africans to step forward and raise awareness and support towards finding a cure for Rett Syndrome.  This will bring us several steps closer to finding the answers and perhaps a cure for all other neuro-developmental problems.

Please be aware that research into Rett Syndrome is privately funded and your financial help is needed.
